Next Gen Alternative Provision is a vibrant multi-cultural and multi faith provision that takes responsibility to prepare children for life in modern Britain. All curriculum areas provide opportunities to further understanding these concepts, particularly in assemblies and lessons in Citizenship, RE, and PSHE lessons. Students embrace these concepts with enthusiasm and demonstrate a good understanding of their application to their own lives.
The provision ensures children have exposure to a wide range of experiences beyond their local community through educational visits, trips, and visiting speakers. Students decide upon class rules and rights associated with these, and the school council gathers opinions on key concepts about the provision. Parents plan opportunities to voice their opinions through Parent voice and regular questionnaires, and students also involve in the planning of the creative curriculum.
Next Gen Alternative Provision consistently reinforces the importance of laws and discipline, teaching pupils the value and reasons behind rules and laws. They also encourage students to make choices in a safe and supportive environment, and provide opportunities for safety and participation in sporting activities.
Mutual respect is a core value at Next Gen Alternative Provision, with students participating in discussions and key worker sessions related to these values. They also promote tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs through celebrations of different faiths and cultures, national events, and theatre groups.
