Next Gen AP Careers, Education, Information, Advice and Guidance

Careers, Education, Information, Advice and Guidance

Careers, Education, Information, Advice and Guidance Next Gen AP School is committed to educating our students about the many job options in every industry. We pride ourselves on providing students with the academic foundations to succeed and a wide range of opportunities, from Year 7 to Year 13, for them to explore future pathways and receive quality advice and guidance to make the right choices, whether that be Further Education, Higher Education, an apprenticeship, or employment.

CEIAG at Next Gen AP is customised for everyone. Our relationships with business, including apprenticeship providers, local companies, and the uniformed forces, allow students to explore the world of employment and visit institutions to experience higher education. Next Gen AP School hosts guest speakers and businesspeople to motivate students with their success stories and objectives. Work Experience occurs in Year 11 and Post 16, and we are always trying to expand our local company partnerships.

Departments conduct trips and events to help students understand occupations. This includes:

• Year 12 mock interviews • Guess My Job - connecting students to employers • National competition - promoting STEM extracurriculars
• Performing Arts: theatrical trips and musician visits motivate students • Catering & Hospitality: strong local business links • Year 10 University Campus visits • Film making workshops • Construction workshop

Year-specific CEIAG activities help students make educated decisions about topic options, job experience, CV, and interview skills.

Review of CEIAG

Compass Plus measures Gatsby Benchmark progress online. This is conducted on a termly basis by the Careers Leader, with the assistance of our Careers Enterprise Co-Ordinator/Headteacher. Compass evaluation results inform CEIAG development plan.

Students and staff assess all CEIAG events. Post-event questionnaires, student voice, and interviews collect feedback. The CEIAG development plan incorporates results.

Student destinations like apprenticeships, sixth form and further education colleges, universities, and employment demonstrate careers guidance's success. Destination data is used to evaluate students' transitions into higher education, training, or work and inform CEIAG service.

Staff can access CEIAG teacher resources for all subjects.

The Headteacher and Governors examine and approve CEIAG policy annually.
